How do I switch on browser notifications?
You can easily do this on your FLOWN Account Settings page.
Browser notifications are designed to work with Google Chrome. Receiving these notifications on Chrome will depend on your browser settings, so if they don’t come through, check your browser’s settings Notifications settings.
If this still doesn’t work, check your device’s System Settings → Notifications → Google Chrome Helper (Alerts) and toggle ‘Allow notifications’.
How do I switch on notifications for the FLOWN desktop app?
FLOWN’s desktop app is a Chrome-based web app, so follow the steps above to enable notifications in the FLOWN Web App.
How do I follow FLOWN members?
Wherever you can get to a fellow user’s profile, you can follow them. You can find user’s profiles in several ways:
In your Profile page, there is a list of people you already follow and who follow you. We also suggest people to follow lower down.
In a Community Session, use the right-hand panel and navigate to the ‘People’ tab. Click on any person and you can follow them.
In a Drop-In session, use the right-hand panel and navigate to the ‘People’ tab. Click on any person and you can follow them.
On the Calendar page, navigate to a session. You’ll see a sample list of people booked onto the session under ‘Who’s going?’
Click one of the three sample people you can see are going.
A list of members will appear.
Click a member to go to their profile and click ‘Follow’.
How do FLOWN members follow me?
Other FLOWN members can follow you in the same way as outlined above.
So if you’re in a Community Session or Drop-In, or if you’re booked onto a future session, they’ll be able to navigate to your profile and follow you.
They may also be recommended to you based on your interests in your profile.
Am I alerted when FLOWN members follow me?

What are the benefits of following people?
When you follow someone on FLOWN:
they’ll appear as ‘Online Connections’ on the Launchpad if they are currently online
they’ll appear at the top of the list of attendees for a given session
you’ll receive Follower Notifications when they join a session, so you have the opportunity to join them on the same session if you want to work alongside a familiar face.
How do I control what notifications I get?
Go to your FLOWN Account Settings→Notifications page to see all your options.
How do I turn off follower notifcations?
You can toggle email and browser notifications on or off for those you follow and who follow you via the notification settings on your profile on your FLOWN account settings.
My university or company has a company subscription. How does it work with my peers and colleagues?
If you are using FLOWN as part of a company subscription, you will automatically the other people in your subscription, and they will automatically follow you.
This is so that you can see what your co-workers and peers are doing on FLOWN, and create more opportunities to co-work synchronously with your peers.
